Method To Use Firewall/ Web Shield Protection in Webroot:

  1. Manage Firewall: Firewall helps to control and monitors the data traffic. It stops the untrusted access which tries to connect to the Internet in order to steal your personal information. It gives complete inbound and outbound protection. It is advised you should not turn off the firewall. If you disable it, then your device is open to many types of internet threats. These firewalls help to block the malware, hacking attempts and other types of internet threats before they cause damage to your device. It works in the background without interrupting your work.
    To view or disable the firewall, from the system tray, you need to double-click on the Webroot icon. Now, the main interface displays on your screen. In this, the firewall status appears on the main page just under PC Security and the green button shows that the firewall is enabled. If you want to disable the firewall, then you should tap on the white portion of the button. Here, it will ask you to complete a CAPTCHA screen. Now, Webroot gives you a warning that your firewall is disabled and asks you to re-enable it.   2. Change Firewall/ Web Shield Setting: If the user to change firewall / web shield settings: then from the system tray, you need to double-hit on the Webroot icon. After this, you will see the main interface on the screen. At this point, you should hit on the Advanced Settings. Now, the Settings pane appears on your screen with the Install Settings pane active. Here, you need to select Firewall / Web Shield. At this point, the Firewall / Web Shield pane appears on your screen. Next, you should enable a setting, for this select the checkbox or radio button. Or if you want to disable a setting, then deselect the checkbox or radio button.
    The Web Shield Setting are Enable Web Shield, Active Browser Extension, Block Malicious Websites, Enable Real-time Anti-Phishing, Show safety ratings when using search engines, and enable web filtering driver etc.
    The firewall settings are Allow all processes to connect to the Internet unless explicitly blocked, Warn if any new, untrusted processes connect to the Internet if the computer is infected, Warn if any new, untrusted process connects to the Internet, and Warn if any process connects to the Internet unless explicitly allowed.
    After completing, you should click on Save Button.
  3. Manage Active Connections: If you want to manage active connections, then double-click on the Webroot icon. Now, the main interface appears on your screen. Then, you have to tap on the PC Security gear icon. Here, the Scan & Shields panel appears on your screen. At this point, you should hit on the View Active Connections button. Now, the Active Connections window shows you the currently active connections and also the status of your system ports. After this, you need to select one of the radio button: To allow or block a process and to allow or close a port. At last, tap on Close button.
